Description: This young male leopard was on the trail of a spotted deer that had got separated from its herd. Though both prey and predator were initially seen in the open the prey managed to slowly put some jungle between them and head towards the thick forest.

This shot was taken in July 2007 at Yala national park which is currently closed due to LTTE terrorist activities. Sri Lanak lost Willpattu NP due to the LTTE hope this would not happen to Yala as well….
